WHO WE ARE?
Re-Cuir is a family business founded in the Gracia neighbourhood of Barcelona in 1980. Carmen and José Miguel, its founders, designed a concept of artisanal leather production, creating a product with a special identity that continues to endure. Re-Cuir has reinvented itself, while always staying true to its history, basing its current identity on our mission to play a part in making the world a better place.
OUR DESIGNS
CREATION
Re-Cuir products are created using a manufacturing process that makes use of 100% natural cowhide.
Once the product is finished, it is subjected to vegetable tanning, a completely natural manufacturing process that uses the tannins contained in wood and plants, extracted from trees such as mimosa, chestnut and oak.

For the environment: reusing many of our vegetable tanned leathers without generating waste.
Ror our raw material: the leather. On one hand, we reuse leathers that already exist on the market and, on the other hand, we provide a restoration service for leather products.

1980
WE ARE BORN
The first shop-workshop opens on Calle Providencia, in the Gracia neighbourhood.
1982
WE MANUFACTURE
The first manufacturing workshop for other brands opens on Calle Planeta, also in the Gracia neighbourhood.
1996
WE EXPAND
Our production plant opens in Sant Just Desvern, dedicated to the high-volume production of belts and accessories.
2000
THE CHANGE
The 2nd generation of the Irigoyen family takes over the company's management.
2014
WE OPEN
The Cuirum brand is born and we open its first shop on Calle Cotoners, in the Born neighbourhood.
2020
PANDEMIC
During the pandemic we close the manufacturing plant in Sant Just Desvern to focus on our own artisanal production.
2021
OUR BRAND, RE-INVENTED
Cuirum brand naming changes to Re-Cuir. After the pandemic we felt that the brand had to evolve and be re-born.
2022
WE GROW
Opening of the second Re-Cuir store on Banys Nous street, in the Gothic quarter.
2023
WORKSHOP
Opening of the store-workshop in the heart of the Born neighbourhood, on Esparteria street.
2024
WE GO DIGITAL & NEWS
We launch our online shop at www.recuir.com. Re-Cuir returns to its origins by opening its first store in the Gracia neighborhood. Coming soon…
