BEHIND RE-CUIR
WHO ARE WE?
Re-Cuir is a family business founded in the Gràcia neighborhood of Barcelona in 1980. Carmen and José Miguel, its founders, designed a concept of artisanal leather production, creating a product with a special identity that endures to this day.
Re-Cuir has reinvented itself over time, always remaining true to its history and basing its current identity on our mission: to contribute to making the world a better place.
OUR DESIGNS
CREATION
Re-Cuir products are made using a manufacturing process that utilizes 100% natural cowhide.
Once the product is finished, it undergoes vegetable tanning, a completely natural process that uses tannins present in woods and plants, extracted from trees such as mimosa, chestnut and oak.
1980
WE ARE BORN
The first workshop-store opens on Providencia street, in the Gràcia neighborhood.
1982
WE MANUFACTURE
It opens its first manufacturing workshop for other brands on Planeta street, also in the Gràcia neighborhood.
1996
WE ARE EXPANDING
Our production plant in Sant Just Desvern is inaugurated, dedicated to the manufacture of belts and accessories in large volumes.
2000
THE CHANGE
The second generation of the Irigoyen family takes over the management of the company
2014
WE'RE OPEN
The Cuirum brand is born and we open its first store on Cotoners street, in the Born neighborhood.
2020
PANDEMIC
During the pandemic we closed the manufacturing plant in Sant Just Desvern to focus on our own artisanal production.
2021
OUR BRAND, RE-INVENTED
The Cuirum brand is now called Re-Cuir. After the pandemic, we felt the need for the brand to evolve and be reborn.
2022
WE GROW
Opening of the second Re-Cuir store on Banys Nous street, in the Gothic Quarter.
2023
WORKSHOP
The workshop-shop opens in the heart of the Born district, on Esparteria street.
2024
WE'RE GOING DIGITAL
We launched our online store re-cuir.com
